How To Jailbreak iOS 6.1 with evasi0n [iPhone, iPad, iPod]

This post might be a little off topic but it would seem rather resourceful for some photographers and artists, as getting full control over your iDevice can be a wonderful thing.

Step 1: Back Up Your Personal Data

An obvious first step is to ensure that everything you want to keep on your phone is backed up for the processes. If your not concerned about keeping everything then just skip this step.

Step 2: Download iOS 6.1 From iTunes and Install (Ideally Not On your device)

In order to jailbreak you will need a device on 6.0-6.1 in order to be jailbroken by evasi0n. Ideally we want to be on the latest firmware before Apple stops signing this version, so if you haven’t already, update to iOS 6.1.

Step 3: Restore From Your Backup

Now that you have iOS 6.1, you can restore from your backup in iTunes and your ready to begin jailbreaking.

Step 4: Download and Run evasi0n

Head over to www.evasi0n.com and download the appropriate tool. Run the program and follow the guide. It’s super easy

OS X evasi0n 1.0 at mod.my/evasi0nmac10.
Windows evasi0n 1.0 at mod.my/evasi0nwin10.
Linux evasi0n 1.0 at mod.my/evasi0nlin10.

If you run into the issue where your iPhone or iDevice appears to be stalling at “Patching Kernel” simply be patient. One of our devices took up to 10 Minutes before proceeding from that screen.

Step 5: Enjoy.
